Hello dear member of the West African and the global Blue Community. The Réseau Ecole RadioChico, the Blue Community of Mali, is honoured to share with you the highlights of Phase 2 of the Water and Plant Day project in Mali. On the agenda was a skit organised by the children. It focused on raising awareness about the correct use and management of water. Their message was that not only do we need to manage water properly, but we also need to plant to ensure that this resource lasts. This was followed by the planting of forty trees, some of which were planted on site and others shared between the Radiochico children and members of the Malian blue community. A strong message was sent that everyone should take care of their own tree.
A panel discussion followed on the relationship between water and plants and the benefits of planting trees. The panel was chaired by our member Alima TANGARE. The presentation was followed by a question and answer session, which added to the richness of the discussion. The Blue Community Mali also gave a detailed explanation of phyto-depuration, a technique that allows us to purify our waste water through planting. The audience was truly amazed at the commitment of the children and the way we are developing. Many of them then joined actively the Blue Community and share our vision. The network and the number of activists of the Ecole RadioChico and therewith the Blue Community in Mali is growing every day.
From the first phase of this project to the second, everything is being done with our own small resources that we manage to mobilise. Nothing can replace vision and commitment. Together we can make the world a better place. A blue and green world.
With our best regards and wishes, the Mali Blue Community Team 🇲🇱
