Water companies in England and Wales have been given approval by regulator Ofwat to increase bills by an average £19 a year over the next five years as they ramp up investment to solve the sewage crisis in rivers. But Labour’s £5m donor Dale Vince pushes the Labour party to nationalise water companies as households face bill increases of 21 per cent on average. The green energy tycoon has claimed that the latest water bill increases would ‘reward’ water firms’ ‘failure’ to tackle the sewage crisis.
