Cádiz: Campaign to clean the fountains

This week, the Blue Community Aguas de Cádiz (Water of Cadiz) in the very south of Spain has begun an extraordinary campaign to clean the city’s drinking fountains to ensure they are well maintained and to offer quality water to the people of Cádiz, as well as to the tourists who are visiting the city these days.

The municipal company will clean the 112 fountains all over the city during the month of September. After verifying that the cleaning system that has been used in recent years is insufficient, the technical team of Aguas de Cádiz reports that it has intensified the cleaning cycles by dividing the cleaning actions into two blocks. On the one hand, the pool and pipe area is being cleaned and, on the other hand, the dog watering trough and drains.

In addition, Aguas de Cádiz is drafting a new specification to ensure the optimal conservation of these fountains, mainly for the Cádiz model, of which there are a total of 75 fountains that, due to their design, require more exhaustive cleaning maintenance with certain technical particularities that will be included in said specification.
