On Thursday, members of the ‘Blue Community Büdingen’ working group met at Stadtwerke Büdingen to discuss the planning status of their new ‘Refill’ project. The ‘Blue Community Büdingen’ working group is made up of committed citizens, delegates from local politics, the Büdingen municipal utilities, the town council and the secondary schools in Büdingen.
Refill stations are places where you can refill a bottle with tap water free of charge or fill it up yourself. The first refill stations already exist in Büdingen. Participants in the initiative will display a blue ‘Refill Station’ sticker to signalise that they are providing free tap water. Other public buildings are also to become refill stations, and a drinking fountain is being planned for the market square in Büdingen’s old town centre.
