The Blue Community Ecumenical Water Network Africa (EWNA) published it’s second quarterly factsheet (November 2024): Voices for Water Justice. It is dedicated to amplifying the conversations and actions around equitable access to water resources in Africa. This edition delves into the intricate and pressing water issues in Kenya and Nigeria, two nations grappling with unique challenges in securing safe, accessible, and sustainable water sources for their citizens.
Through this issue, EWNA seeks to spotlight the voices, efforts, and innovations emerging from these two countries. As Reverend Kolade Fadahunsi, coordinator of EWNA and the Blue Community in Africa, states in the editorial note:
“Our stories capture the struggles and resilience of communities, the strategic initiatives of local leaders, and the policy recommendations from experts advocating for more equitable water management systems. Together, we can envision a future where access to clean water is no longer a privilege but a human right for all, while we work to achieve Blue Communities across sectors to collectively own, preserve, share and maintain water.”
