The Blue Universities in Switzerland held an online exchange today, sharing good practice on “How do you promote tap water i) in the cafeteria/mensa, ii) in meetings, iii) for caterings?” A file documenting good practice examples is being compiled and shall be shared also with Blue Universities on international level, offering experience, but also looking for good practice in other countries and on other universities.

At Bern University (the first Blue University worldwide), tap water is promoted with a posters hanging in the mensas and cafeterias. The text reads: “A sustainable choice beyond the edge of the plate (i.e. out of the box). Tap water at Bern University: Fresh, sparkling and available at various drinking fountains”
