Press conference on the seminar ‘Acting to protect water resources: an emergency’ (see Blue News here) organised by Eau de Paris, the public water service of the Blue Community / Blue City of Paris. Dan Lert, Deputy Mayor 0f Paris and chairman of Eau de Paris, and Philippe Camburet, President of the Fédération Nationale d’Agriculture Biologique FNAB, speak out on the need to act to protect water at source. Their key message: Protect catchment areas by providing financial and technical support to farmers. Dan Lert:
“Curative treatment costs 5 to 30 times more than preventive treatment. Eau de Paris favours the protection of water resources over a purely curative approach. Every euro invested helps to prepare our future and that of our children.”
