Youth Parlament for Blue Community

Children and young people in Anklam (Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Germany) elect a new youth parliament. There are 15 girls and boys standing for election. They attend different schools in Anklam and are between eleven and 20 years old.

The Anklam Youth Parliament has been in existence for six years. It represents the interests of children and young people to the town council. The Youth Parliament has helped Anklam become a member of the ‘Blue Community’ initiative. This means that the town recognises drinking water as a human right. For example, a drinking water fountain has been installed in the market square.
