UK: Mapping factory farm pollution

Factory farming is a colossal polluter. These UK maps reveal, for the first time, where waste is most concentrated and has the potential to cause most harm.

Tens of thousands of tonnes of waste are produced by factory farm animals every day. When this waste is spread onto oversaturated soils, it washes into our rivers, choking them. Agriculture is now the main source of river pollution in England.
