Water Business in Davos, Switzerland

In a press release, the Italian water company acea communicated the launch of its “Water Alliance”. The statement reads:

Acea  CEO  Fabrizio Palermo is in Davos today to participate in the  World Economic Forum, the annual meeting that brings together leaders from around the world to discuss the main global challenges: from the geopolitical situation to improving living standards to managing the energy transition:

“Today we are proud to launch a water alliance. Less than a year ago, when we at Acea presented this vision in Davos, it seemed ambitious. After a year of intense work with the World Economic Forum, the Water Industry Community has become a reality by bringing together top international expertise at the same table. Just as energy became a strategic focus for the WEF in 2005, water is now officially recognized as a strategic priority, paving the way for a global alliance. It is now essential that industrial operators, financial stakeholders and public institutions work together to transform our ideas into concrete actions.”

On Wednesday 22nd January, Fabrizio Palermo will participate in the panel “Water at a tipping point” (13.15 Kurpark Village – Aspen 3) together with Jessika Roswall, European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and Circular and Competitive Economy: it will be an opportunity to reflect on the issues of drought and climate change that threaten productivity, public health and food security, but also on how to use technological innovation to address water-related challenges.
