The Spanish Blue Community aeopas, Asociación Española de Operadores Públicos de Abastecimiento y Saneamiento, took part in the public hearing organised by the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI).
Luis Babiano, the CEO of aeopas, was selected as an expert to brief the European Parliament Commission and was speaking at the hearing. He denounced:
1️⃣ Climate change mainly affects the water vector.
2️⃣ Create a framework for co-creation to make systems more resilient.
3️⃣ Combat disinvestment in the urban water cycle.
He also proposed solutions in the ENVI Committee hearing on water resilience:
1️⃣ Eliminate speculative mechanisms
2️⃣ Establish regulators
3️⃣ Encourage planning
