Floods, droughts, and water scarcity are hitting Europe harder than ever. The European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU), organising 8 million public service workers across Europe, and the Austrian Federal Chamber of Labour are calling for an EU Water Resilience Strategy that puts People and Planet first. 🌍💧
Clean, affordable water and sanitation are human rights. We need:
- 💦Public control of water services
- 💦Nature-based solutions, not costly end-of-pipe fixes
- 💦Protection from privatisation & liberalisation It’s time to secure water for all.
Workers play a key role in water resilience. The EU strategy must respect collective bargaining, improve health and safety, and include proper training for those on the frontlines. 💪
