2 sanitation workers die cleaning sewage tank in Delhi’s Narela. A third worker, Anil Kumar, who was outside, entered the tank to check on them and also collapsed.
Two sanitation workers died and another was injured Friday while cleaning a sewage tank in the Narela area of outer-north Delhi. Police suspect that the persons fell unconscious after inhaling poisonous gas from the tank.
The deceased, identified as Vijay Mochi (36) and Nandu (44), were cleaning inside the tank near Mansa Devi Apartment before they fell unconscious, the police said.
A third worker, Anil Kumar, who was outside, entered the tank to check on them and also collapsed.
The other workers informed the fire department and rushed the three of them to a nearby hospital where Vijay and Nandu were declared dead. Anil is recovering.
