Would you like to find out about the latest developments and solutions for the sponge city and blue-green infrastructure? The next ‘Aqua Urbanica’ at the Swiss Blue University OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule in Rapperswil will be held under the motto ‘Urban Rainwater Management – Challenges, Solutions and Visions’.
Urban infrastructure, people and the environment must be able to cope with hot summers and heavy rainfall. Cities and towns need to make specific adaptations, often referred to as ‘sponge cities’.
Blue-green infrastructures, networked habitats, new measurement and control concepts and pollution prevention measures are discussed as solutions for the future. Close cooperation between planners, engineers, landscape architects and authorities is a prerequisite for successfully tackling these challenging tasks.
Aqua Urbanica 2025 will bring current and new knowledge to the world of sponge cities! The conference offers a unique platform for an intensive exchange between research and practice. It takes place annually and will be held for the first time in 2025 in Rapperswil on Lake Zurich.
Target Audience: Aqua Urbanica is aimed at planners, operators, authorities, scientists and companies – anyone who wants to help shape our urban future or learn more about it.
