Ghana’s Western Regional Minister orders Chinese firm to halt river pollution

The directive, issued by Ghana’s Western Regional Minister Joseph Nelson, follows complaints by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) and the Water Resources Commission (WRC) about the company’s refusal to comply with environmental regulations. 

Wangkang Ceramics Company Limited, a Chinese firm based in Eshiem, Sekondi-Takoradi, has been given a one-week ultimatum to stop illegal activities obstructing the flow of River Anankore at Inchaban.
