WaterVision – a workshop as part of the Blue Community School at the Wolfgang – Ernst – Gymnasium WEG Büdingen, Germany.
On 12 February 2020, we were able to inspire 394 students from grades 5, 9 and 10 to take part in the WaterVision workshop in the multi-purpose hall. The workshop was about virtual water, water pollution, the situation of ‘too much’ or ‘too little’ water and generally about the responsible use of this resource at home and around the world.
Many interesting facts were touched upon in the form of quizzes and interactive questions and, according to the students, the aim of raising awareness was demonstrably achieved. With this programme, Multivision e.V. supported our strategy at the Wolfgang – Ernst – Gymnasium to promote the Blue Community idea of a sensitive approach to water and sustainability.
Our democracy workshop and the newly created elective course (Blue Community & Democracy Workshop) prepared and followed up on this event. In this project group we want to continue to support multi-perspective approaches to water. For example, a curriculum with experimental and explorative content will be created to provide a possible guideline for future courses and groups. In this way, we have created a continuous educational link to the Blue Community idea in addition to our World Water Days events in recent years.
