Fake signs placed at city entrances to raise awareness of drinking water quality.

Two groups working to protect the quality of drinking water carried out a symbolic operation on Wednesday 26 February. In Nort-sur-Erdre (Loire-Atlantique) and several surrounding towns, they put up fake ‘Villes et villages pesticides’ signs at the entrance to the town.

At the entrance to Nort-sur-Erdre (Loire-Atlantique), the small plant on the ‘town in bloom’ sign has been transformed into a skull and crossbones coming out of a tap. The new – and symbolic – sign reads: ‘Villes et villages pesticides: le label des zones de captages polluées’ (‘Towns and villages pesticides: the label for polluted catchment areas’). The action on Wednesday 26 February is the initiative of two groups, Pour de l’eau potable and Eau’secours 44.
