Blue Community Germany: Annual Conference 2025 in Büdingen. A successful event with a total of 22 participants from Berlin, Marburg, Schotten, Altenstadt, Büdingen and also from atiptap e.V. in Berlin.
The Mayor of the Blue Community / Blue City of Büdingen, Mr Benjamin Harris, welcomed the participants and the First Councillor, Katja Euler, attended the event throughout the day.
The Blue Community Conference was hosted by the Water Ambassadors of BC Germany in the world’s first Blue Coommunity School in Büdingen. Everyone felt very comfortable and there were many productive results. In particular, the students’ contributions and the events held in recent years on World Water Day were very popular with the participants, as well as the elective “Blue Community and Democracy Workshop”, which was presented by the students themselves, and the videos they made on the topic of tap water. This gave many people an idea of what is possible in schools and with students.
The teachers at the Janusz Korczak Primary School in Altenstadt, which recently became a Blue Community / Blue School, are also sure that they will remain in close contact with their neighbouring school.
Annika Brunner reported on her ‘refill’ campaign organised by atiptap e.V. in Berlin.
The participants agreed that the next conference for Germany should be held in two years’ time, in the hope of welcoming more Blue Communities who unfortunately had to cancel their participation this year for various reasons.
