The Blue Community Network hosted a webinar with Khurshid Bhatti, founder and CEO of the Pakistani Blue Community AHD, Association for Humanitarian Development, and Blue Communities in Africa. Khurshid Bhatti and his team introduced the Nadi filter, a locally produced solution for providing safe drinking water, which has been distributed in Pakistan and other countries, reaching millions of people. The Nadi filter, made from clay pots and sand, effectively removes contaminants and prevents waterborne diseases, and is adaptable and sustainable for 10-20 years.
The group discussed potential collaboration and technology transfer to African countries, with several participants expressing interest, especially from Blue Communities in French-speaking West Africa. A cooperation shall be established to bring this simple and cheap, but efficient technology to them.
A Whatsapp-group of already more than 40 people facilitates the exchange. The group stays open for others interested in joining this cooperation.
