Without previous information or warning, Linkedin has blocked the account I used to send updates on water and sanitation headlines from around the globe. Also asking back, Linkedin did not come up with any explanations, just stating a violation of the LinkedIn User Agreement and Professional Community Policies.
I wrote them:
My account was blocked without any previous warning or information that a violation of the Linkedin agreement was noted. Since almost one week, 9000 people following me for information from our global network are waiting for my regular updates and I can not even send them any information about the why and how. Also now, you do not provide any concrete information, what I did wrong and you don’t give me a chance to do things the proper way.
We are a non-commercial network on the human right to water and sanitation, and we really depend on our channels of communication. May I kindly ask you to review your decision and allow me access at least for a limited time to inform our contacts and find an alternative? What other options could you offer that comply with your policy and would allow us to keep the contacts we established through the time?
This did not bring any results. It looks like not only Elon Musk and Marc Zuckerberg are Trumping around, but also Bill Gates and Microsoft, the owner of Linkedin, joined the club.
We are sorry for the troubles. For Blue News, we suggest to follow us on Bluesky or on Mastodon.
Best regards, Roland Brunner
