Umo Isua-Ikoh, director of the Nigerian Blue Community Peace Point Development Foundation PPDF, sent us pictures from a mission they just did in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria to monitor oil spills. The spill is strong and the Communities said this has been happening since the beginning of this year when work started at the Durga 4 platform of Sterling Global in Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Besides, the regulatory body, National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Akwa Ibom State Zonal Office, confirmed the frequency of oil spill within the axis.

PPDF is working in Nigeria’s River Delta Region that is also affected by the current floods with more than 110 people dead. Also some of PPDF’s project communities are affected, but the PPDF team itself is safe.
