Germany: Hamburg Gets New Fountains

From the German Blue Community / Blue City of Hamburg:

Here’s why Hamburg has special drinking fountains.

If you’re thirsty in summer and would rather drink water than buy a drink, you can use one of the city’s 54 public water dispensers. Ten of these are operated by Hamburg Wasser, and some now feature a very special design developed especially for Hamburg. The reason for this, however, is rather sad.

Hamburg Wasser’s drinking water columns should all be operational again by now. But in the city centre, around the Alster, at the Stadtpark and the Landungsbrücken, people will have to wait a few more weeks. This is because the blue drinking water columns have been so badly damaged by vandalism that they need to be replaced with new models.
