From Blue Community Ambassador Fredrick Mugira:

Water stories are crucial! Today, I’ll be part of the “How to Tell Meaningful Water Stories” panel at #WaterInCommunications2025. Let’s discuss how frontline journalists and communicators can make a difference. Starts 14:00 CEST #WorldWaterWeek

Water is rarely the headline, yet always at the heart of the story—whether it’s about conflict, food, health, or climate. This panel brings together frontline journalists, communicators, and practitioners from Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe to explore the evolving role of water journalism. Through powerful case studies—from boreholes in Kenya to urban water crisis in Mexico —speakers will unpack the ethical challenges, risks, and strategies of telling dignifying, impactful water stories. Together, they’ll ask: who owns the story, how do we bridge science and storytelling, and how can we center communities in global conversations?
