Cat Hobbs, founder and director of the British Blue Community ‘We Own It’ will take part at this event:
Forum 2029 – Food, Water, Energy: Ownership and the common good. Building a living standards policy platform for the UK. A first series of events bringing together leading progressive voices.
Wednesday, 18 June 2025, 7:30 PM CET
As the cost of living crisis continues and environmental breakdown accelerates, questions about how we manage and own our essential resources continue to come to the fore. From soaring energy bills to water pollution and an increasingly fragile food system, people across the UK are being failed by systems that prioritise profit over the common good.
The second event in the Forum 2029 series will explore why policies such as democratic ownership and control of food, water and energy will need to form part of any serious progressive agenda. Drawing on the insights of leading thinkers, campaigners and politicians, our panel will examine how reimagining ownership structures can help deliver a fairer, more resilient future.
Confirmed speakers: Clive Lewis MP (The Labour Party), Vicki Hird (Wildlife Trusts), Fatima Ibrahim (Green New Deal UK), Cat Hobbs (We Own It)
