Today, representatives of Blue Communities in the Swiss region of Zurich – cities, universities, water utilities, churches, and NGOs – met to exchange and discuss their plans and activities. One focus was the planning for World Water Week 2026 and new affiliates to join the Blue Community.
With more than 50 Blue Communities in Switzerland, there are sub-chapters per canton (region). In the region of Zurich alone, there are more than 10 Blue Communities – among them the University of Zurich or the Reformed Church of Zurich, the biggest parish in Europe.
