Celebration of World Environment Day 2025 & Launching OCOY2025
Celebration of World Environment Day 2025 amongst various stakeholders and young leaders from yoth4water plus led by UNICEF . This celebration was highlighted few concrete action on maximizing climate change & variability initiatives at local level, minimizing plastic pollution, and optimizing water & Pond rejuvenation, Scale to driving mass campaign on green coverage through plantation and restoring natural biodiversity conservation in association with schools and colleges, undertaking accomplishment sustainable consumption and production and green skill building , sustainable fashion and circularity undertaken last year 2024 engaging youth mass ,
corporate , CSOs and government officials
This launching event was organised in the presence of the elite groups, Government officials, Representative UN Organisations, Youth Leaders, CSOs . it is discussed that , this is one of the powerful campaign spearheaded by Youth4Water Plus led by UNICEF to engage local and regional youth leaders in Building Next Gen Climate Leaders.
The objective is to make a mass movement of youths for local action and advocacy towards addressing Global Climate Change vulnerabilities & achieving Sustainable Development Goals through a localisation process.
OCOY 3.0 will be emerged as one of tool to bring innovation and inclusion in thought, themes to trigger interconnect local action , program, process and Nature Based Solutions & principles keeping in view of Global Temperature & Heat wave rise, Biodiversity Loss, Ground & Surface Water loss Plastic Pollution, Chemical Pollution, Water Pollution, Soil Pollution finally adverse impact on food & nutrition cycle , water cycle, nitrogen cycle, soil carbon cycle & oxygen cycle . Thus vulnerabilities are manifold for all living beings.
Since issues are many and opportunities are also enormous there has a need to engaging multiple stakeholder as development of Odisha needs many hands , heads and heart to bring changes in systemic risks and cascading disasters . In order to address multiple issues of climate change vulnerability, water & biodiversity rejuvenation, mangrove & terrestrial ecosystem regeneration and conservation with added training , capacity building and exposure for scaling the campaign towards logical stand.
