Success story from the African Blue Community WASWAK, the Water Sector Workers Association of Kenya:

WASWAK – WPI has a success story in Kenya. To ensure professionalism, quality work force within Water Sector and efficiency Water Sector Workers Association of Kenya in conjunction with Water Professionals International, WPI have managed to successfully certify globally 40 Water treatment operators drawn from 30 Water utilities across Kenya under cohort 1.
We selected competitively from over 1000 applications and the qualified operators under international standards and criteria.
They were intensively trained and examined by WPI Water treatment experts and trainers.
Those who qualified, graduated in a colorful ceremony attended by senior key players in the sector. They were certified as PO- Professional Operators, meaning the can work anyway globally..
The Water Profesionals International, WPI paid for the costs for the training for one full week at Nairobi, Kenya.
Our second cohort based on availability of funds, we shall have Water treatment operators and cohort 1 for Waste Water treatment operators.
Those who qualified are now mentors and with technical support from WASWAK, we are ensuring that they internally transfer knowledge to their fellow operators and finally we shall have the entire system capacity built.
Kindly, any partnership on this project, will be warmly welcomed and appreciated.
The SDG6 demands for not only quantity but also quality… Waste Water treatment will ensure the sustainability of our Water resources…
