The Blue Community in Latin America has a long history, dating back 10 years. Some of the most important battles for the human right to water and sanitation have been fought in South America and continue to be.
However, the Blue Community in Latin America has not been very dynamic in recent years. Although it has grown very rapidly in Asia and especially in Africa, few new partners have joined in Latin America. But this is about to change.
The Blue University of PUCPR (Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná), led by Professor Elias Wolff and his team from the “Water Committee – PUCPR” will take on the coordination role for Latin America, with the goal of engaging more universities, as well as municipalities, churches, and NGOs in the network.
