The Blue Community Kisumu Youth Water Sanitation Hygiene Parliament (KYWP) participated and reports about today’s conference organised by Kenya Water For Health Organization (KWAHO):
Today we had a youthful engagement with KWAHO on mater safe water for all. Piped water solutions and safely managed sanitation with a keen focus on women, means redefining gender norms and in turn collectively transforming the society. A woman that has access to water has time to study and engage in other economic activities, including farming…and becomes an empowered woman. A community with access to clean & safe H20 has more time for econ. empowerment/prod. — esp., marginalized/at-risk groups such as women, children, and the elderly.
Youth are strategic partners & opinion shapers not just beneficiaries especially in the water sector.
