Today, representatives of Blue Communities in Brazil and interested activists joined for a first encounter on Zoom, organized by Marta Fischer and Elias Wolff from the Blue University PUCPR (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná), taking over the coordination of the Blue Community in Latin America.
The purpose of this meeting was to introduce members of Brazilian Blue Communities and Universities with a view to developing networks. The meeting was fruitful: in addition to getting to know each other better and sowing the seeds of partnerships, we came up with two ideas: a next meeting including Blue Communities from all Latin America; and a form to map higher education institutions (HEIs) and communities developing water-related initiatives, to establish whether they are already part of the BC network. Finally, we agreed to organise a symposium, which could be virtual or hybrid, since everyone is eager to get to know the Blue University UFLA!
