Every year around World Water Day (March 22), the Blue Communities in the Zurich region of Switzerland organize a World Water Week with lots of events all around the region. As part of this program, the second Swiss Blue Symposium will take place on 12 March 2026 at the Blue University OST in Rapperswil:

To celebrate World Water Day 2026, the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland is hosting the 2nd Interdisciplinary Water Symposium on 12 March, in collaboration with VSA, Blue Communities and the Swiss Water Partnership (SWP).

This edition of the symposium will continue to focus on partnerships. Titled ‘Water and climate: tackling complex challenges in a future-oriented way with interdisciplinary partnerships’, the symposium will discuss the opportunities and responsibilities of political decision-makers with regard to water resources. It will also highlight possibilities for sustainable water management at the municipal level and illustrate the added value of long-term partnerships.

The symposium will take place on 12 March from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., followed by an aperitif.

Organisers: Blue Communities of Eastern Switzerland and Zurich, the OST, the Swiss Water Partnership (SWP) and the Swiss Water and Wastewater Association (VSA), with support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
