Anoosh Werner from the German Blue Community / Blue City of Neustrelitz sent us this report:
The future of our water in action.
On 5 and 6 September, 20 interested members of the Blue Community Neustrelitz addressed the topic of water retention, specifically water storage.
We began with a perception walk on the market square in Neustrelitz. Where are broken water cycles and how does that feel?
The film #waterislove by Tamera Healing Biotop was shown at the @altenkachelofen. This was followed by an expert discussion with Team Water Retention and Fakt21.
On Saturday, we delved deeper into the topic and carried out a planting campaign in the Neustrelitz cultural quarter and made plans for the backyard of the Neustrelitz art school to collect rainwater there in future and have more green spaces.
Several city representatives also took part.
The closing event will take place on 12 November at 6:30 p.m. in the barn of the Alte Kachelofen Fabrik. Here, the results will be presented and participants will discuss how the plans for the Kunsthaus backyard can be implemented in 2026.
