Despite disappointing results: Why COP 30 gives Claus Wilkens hope.
Claus Wilkens grew up in Heusenstamm near Offenbach. In 2010, he began working at the Wolfgang-Ernst-Gymnasium in Büdingen, followed by a secondment to the Janusz-Korczak-Schule in Altenstadt in 2018. Eight years ago, Wilkens first came into contact with the Blue Community movement – after the town of Büdingen joined the initiative in 2022, he led the working group. He has now relinquished this role: The 66-year-old retired this summer and now lives in the small Brazilian town of Canavieiras in the state of Bahia. There, he continues to support the movement, which fights for the protection of clean water and equitable access to it.
