Water as a Human Right – The power of pledge.
Join us in a webinar to learn from the global network of Blue Communities about what can be done in our communities to stand up for the right to safe drinking water for everyone, everywhere.
Co-founded by 2005 Right Livelihood Laureate Maude Barlow, Blue Community is a network of cities and villages, universities and schools, companies and NGO, faith-based organisations and trade unions, who have made a pledged commitment to;
- Recognise the Human Right to water and sanitation
- Promote publicly financed, owned and operated water and wastewater services
- Promote safe public drinking water everywhere to end the need for bottled water
The webinar will explore the origins of the community, its growth into an international community and the movement’s deep spiritual roots to protect water justice. Following the speakers, there will be an opportunity for a Q+A and discussion.
