From the Swiss Blue Community VSA – Association of Swiss Wastewater and Water Protection Specialists:
Thanks to the generosity of our speakers, VSA has been able to donate 4,500 Swiss francs to the Zoodo WASH project in Burkina Faso this year. This donation will improve access to clean drinking water and sanitation facilities for hundreds of people, making a concrete contribution to health, self-determination, and active responsibility as a Blue Community.
Thanks to the commitment of various speakers who donated all or part of their fees, we were able to transfer 4,500 Swiss francs to the Zoodo WASH project run by the Paspanga NGO in Burkina Faso this year – thereby fulfilling our responsibility as a Blue Community.
The project provides 600 people with access to clean drinking water and 745 people with access to safe sanitation facilities. This effectively reduces waterborne diseases and malnutrition, particularly among young children. At the same time, it eases the burden on women, who are typically responsible for collecting water and caring for their children’s health.
This project is one of a number of carefully selected water projects reviewed by Aguasan and presented on the Blue Community Switzerland platform. We highly recommend this platform to anyone who would like to support sustainable water projects.
A big thank you to everyone whose donations are enabling this valuable contribution to improved living conditions in Burkina Faso!
