New Webinar: Alternatives to Salt ~ Stop Salt Pollution
Today, we’re at Queen’s Park advocating for action on salt pollution. Next Tuesday, you can join us to learn the truth behind salt alternatives. |
|
| The Great Lakes basin is the epicentre of an unfolding water crisis that gets worse with each passing winter. The culprit? Salt. The alternatives? Hotly debated!
While many think of salt as the solution to winter’s icy woes, in reality, salt is a federally designated toxic substance with known environmental, human, and economic impacts. But if we shouldn’t be using salt, what are the alternatives? This is a hotly debated topic. When every bag of chemical de-icers claims to be eco-friendly and many are ready to profess the superiority of so-called organic solutions for deicing like beet juice, the science tells a different story… |
❄️ Webinar on Tuesday, March 3rd ❄️ |
|
| Join us on Tuesday March 3rd @ 6:30PM to dive in to the murky waters around salt alternatives. Together, we’ll gain clarity on the real effects and efficacy of common salt alternatives, while engaging rich discussion amongst practitioners, scientists, and policymakers to get to the heart of sustainable winter management practices.
The event features a panel discussion with cross-sector experts who are working on the frontlines of salt pollution and a Q&A with the audience. The webinar is co-presented by Water Rangers, Water Watchers, and Watersheds Canada who are all working toward a less salty future for our shared waters. |
