The Archbishop of Kenya’s Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri has cautioned against what he describes as “weaponization” and “politicization” of drought in the East African nation, humanitarian reports indicate that millions are grappling with acute water shortages, food insecurity, and livestock losses following several failed rainy seasons.
Speaking to members of the press after Holy Mass on Sunday February 15 at St. Paul Matanya Parish in his Metropolitan See, Archbishop Athony Muheria emphasized that the vulnerable should not be turned into tools for boosting popularity or advancing partisan agendas.
