The Blue Community Population and Development Initiative (PDI) from Tanzania and AfreWatch International are pleased to invite your participation in the production of the Responsible Mining Africa Outlook 2026—a flagship publication aimed at advancing accountable, inclusive, and sustainable mining practices across the continent.
As water is part and parcel in the mining sector especially the accessibility among affected mining communities as well as the need for improved water quality we see it’s important to share this call among WASH colleagues across Africa to participate in the Responsible Mining Africa Outlook 2026 through contribution of case studies and lived experiences in areas we are located.
We welcome diverse contributions, including country and thematic case studies, community voices and lived experiences, analytical articles, responsible mining photography, and technical or editorial expertise to support the Outlook’s development.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a high-level, evidence-based publication that amplifies African perspectives and informs policy, investment, and practice.
The Outlook will serve as a critical platform to highlight innovations, challenges, and solutions in Africa’s mining sector.
It will support improved governance, community empowerment, environmental stewardship, and equitable resource management—while contributing to global conversations on responsible sourcing, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
We also welcome partners to financially support the Outlook, particularly in areas such as field research, editorial development, production, and physical dissemination sessions planned for early 2027.
Supporting this initiative offers visibility, thought leadership positioning, and alignment with impactful, continent-wide development efforts.
