From the Swiss Blue Community / Blue City of Dietikon:

Water connects: 4th Dietikon World Water Week is coming up.

Water is the basis of life, a force of nature and a meeting place all at once. With this year’s World Water Week from 16 to 22 March 2026, the city of Dietikon invites you to discover, experience and re-appreciate the element of water from different perspectives. For young and old, families, interested parties and the curious, the week offers space for information, creativity, play and shared experiences.

Dietikon invites the entire population to a varied week of activities centred around the theme of water. The focus is on encounters, information and creative experiences – from the conscious use of drinking water to the playful discovery of its importance for people, nature and the city. Throughout the week, there will be a water bar in the city and regional library and in the Chrüzikafi in the Chrüzacher leisure centre, where fresh tap water will be served to raise awareness of the high quality of Dietikon’s drinking water.

At the Chrüzacher leisure centre, children, young people and families can enjoy a varied programme with open craft and painting workshops, playground activities and craft activities based around the element of water. The focus is on creativity, experimentation and joint discovery. The programme is complemented by a specialist lecture organised by the city and regional library, which provides exciting insights into Dietikon’s hidden water network and its transformation, and offers space for discussion.

A special highlight is the adventure day at the Fondli swimming pool with guided tours behind the scenes of the bathing and filter technology, a swimming competition for different age categories and a cosy festival restaurant. Nature and exercise are not neglected either: a joint walk for children along the fountains invites them to consciously perceive water in the urban space.

The event will conclude with a themed church service on the subject of (drinking) water, followed by an interactive treasure hunt for all generations. Further adventure activities on Sunday afternoon will take up the theme in a playful way. The action week is aimed at anyone interested and shows in many different ways how valuable, vibrant and connecting water is in our everyday lives.
