4th Büdingen Water Day on 22 March 2026 – Blue Community Büdingen invites you to the Novum Cinema.
To mark International World Water Day on 22 March, Blue Community Büdingen is hosting the 4th Büdingen Water Day. All interested parties are invited to the Novum Cinema in Büdingen on Sunday, 22 March 2026, at 5 p.m. Admission is free, but prior registration is required.
Under this year’s motto, ‘Water is Love – Waves of Renewal’, a special cinema evening will be the focus of the event. The award-winning documentary ‘Water is Love – Ripples of Regeneration’ (English with German subtitles) will be shown. The film impressively highlights the importance of water for life on Earth and shows how closely functioning water cycles are linked to climate protection and the future of our ecosystems.
Following the film screening, the Blue Community Büdingen invites the audience to a discussion. Together with the visitors, they will reflect on what ideas can be derived from the approaches shown in the film for the town of Büdingen and how responsible water management can be strengthened as a contribution to climate protection.
World Water Day is proclaimed by the United Nations every year on 22 March to draw attention to the importance of water worldwide. This topic is particularly relevant for Büdingen: the city has been part of the international Blue Community movement since 2022. Among other things, this movement is committed to recognising water as a human right, preserving it as a public good and promoting sustainable water use. The annual Büdingen Water Day is a central part of this local commitment.
The event is organised by the Blue Community Büdingen working group with the support of Novum Kino Büdingen, Stadtwerke Büdingen and the Büdingen municipal authorities.
