WORLD WATER DAY 2026 at Schools in Büdingen and Altenstadt.

We are delighted and proud to report today from the Dohlberg School, the Wolfgang-Ernst-Gymnasium, and the Janusz-Koczak-School in Altenstadt: all three schools explored our favorite topic – water – in a variety of ways in preparation for World Water Day.

The activities and events were largely organized by three dedicated members of our working group: Marlen Slanker, Jan Eckhardt, and Doris Krüerke-Brumm.

Thank you so much for your commitment! Your efforts were well worth it!

Dohlberg School

  • Water experiments (grades 5 and 6, demonstrated and supervised by a 7th grade class)
  • Water Visions Workshop (grades 7 to 9)
  • Film screening of “Water is Love” (grade 10)

Wolfgang-Ernst-Gymnasium

  • Class-based exploration of the topic of water (grades 5 and 6)
  • Film screening of “Water is Love” (11th grade)
  • Lectures on water and climate by external speakers (12th grade)

Janusz-Korczak-School

  • Design of a water feature and a poster column

We are pleased that the Blue Community Büdingen can contribute to sparking students’ interest in and awareness of water.
