Newly released! Designing sanitation technologies for non‑sewered systems often means working with tight constraints: limited space, high variability, and complex environments.

One approach that helped us navigate this complexity was iteration, enabled by 3D printing.

Instead of finalizing a design upfront, we used digital fabrication to rapidly prototype, test, and adapt a small‑footprint wastewater dewatering unit under real operating conditions at the Water Hub in NEST.

This allowed learning to be built directly into the design process. Not added afterwards.
