France: Loire’s Parot Spring Polluted

France – Loire: the Parot spring is polluted and unusable; the PFAS level in the water exceeds the permitted limit. 

The iconic Parot spring in Saint-Romain-le-Puy (Loire) has been permanently closed since January 1, 2026, due to PFAS pollution, a persistent pollutant found everywhere in our environment. The Regional Health Agency detected a PFAS level of 46.8 nanograms per liter in the spring. This level exceeds the limit of 30 nanograms per liter established for mineral waters on January 1.
