The Blue Community Network welcomes a new partner in India: The Save Water and Safe Water Foundation in Hyderabad is designated a Blue Community on 14 April 2026.

Save Water and Safe Water Foundation (SWSW) is a Non-Profitable Organization and a national movement to raise the issues related to water in the country. In its commitment to the Blue Community, SWSW states:

«The Save Water and Safe Water Foundation is deeply committed to ensuring that every individual has access to safe and clean drinking water, while also promoting awareness on water conservation for future generations. Our vision aligns closely with the principles of the Blue Community Network, making this affiliation a natural and meaningful step forward in our journey.
We seek to become a Blue Community because we strongly believe that water is a fundamental human right, not a commodity. In many of the regions where we work remote villages, tribal areas, and underserved communities people still walk miles to collect contaminated water, risking their health and dignity. Through our initiatives, including drilling borewells, conducting water awareness campaigns, and promoting sustainable practices, we actively work toward equitable water access. Joining the Blue Community Network will strengthen our advocacy for water justice and amplify our voice on a global platform.
Our expectations from this affiliation include opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and learning from other communities that are committed to protecting water as a public trust.»

Padmalochan Bagh, Founder-Director of SWSW, confirms:

«The Save Water and Safe Water Foundation firmly upholds the belief that access to safe drinking water and sanitation is a fundamental human right. Our past work and future plans are centered around ensuring that marginalized and underserved communities can live with dignity, health, and equal opportunity through access to clean water. By joining the Blue Community Network, we hope to gain insights into best practices, innovative solutions, and policy frameworks that can help us scale our impact more effectively. Being a Blue Community will also enhance our credibility and enable us to engage with partners, other NGOs, and institutions more effectively.»

And he insists:

«Every drop we save, every life we serve—bringing safe water, restoring dignity, and inspiring hope for humanity.»

Blue Community co-founder Maude Barlow signed the certificate and welcomes SWSW to the Blue Community South Asia:

«Save Water and Safe Water Foundation is a prestigious organisation that will further strengthen the Blue Community in India and throughout South Asia. With its experience and expertise at ground level, SWSW is a role model for the Blue Community. Our growing network in South Asia will learn from SWSW and grow alongside it. Welcome to the Blue Family!»
