From Blue Community Ambassador Lyla Mehta, Professor at Institute of Development Studies, UK, & Norwegian University of Life Sciences:
Many thanks to Sagar Dhara and Ecology, Economy and Society – the INSEE Journal for this excellent and thought-provoking review of our book. Couldn’t agree more with the recommendations for follow up work and a sequel. When we started the research in 2012 our focus was on adaptation, not mitigation. We have been trying to find ways (get funding) to understand linkages between mitigation and adaptation uncertainties, and how to create synergies between adaptation & mitigation, but so far no success. But we will keep trying, and reviews like this confirm why it’s important. Thanks again.
Sagar Dhara reviews Lyla Mehta, Hans Nicolai Adam, and Shilpi Srivastava, eds (2022) The Politics of Climate Change and Uncertainty in India published by Routledge Books/ Taylor & Francis Group, titled ‘Now You See Me, and Now You Don’t: How Three Partially Blindfolded Persons Feel and Respond to the Climate Elephant in the Room’ in vol. 9, issue 1 of Ecology, Economy and Society – the INSEE Journal.
