A Book for Mother’s Day in Mali

A Book for Mother’s Day in Mali, From the Swiss Blue Community Kene Elou Te and their partner in Mali the Blue Community Réseau Ecole RadioChico: On Mot

From the Swiss Blue Community Kene Elou Te and their partner in Mali, the Blue Community Réseau Ecole RadioChico:

On Mother’s Day, the children in Mali saw the manuscript of their collaborative book, complete with their drawings, for the first time.

And it wasn’t just the children who were proud and full of joy — the parents were too.

For me (Annemarie Koch), as an Inagara, this moment was one of the most wonderful gifts.

Over the past few months, something special has emerged from small gardens, seeds, water projects, children’s drawings and many conversations: a book by children, for children.

In it, the children talk about hope, nature, peace, learning and the joy of doing things together.

It was particularly touching to see today how much dignity and pride can arise when children experience:
“My ideas matter.”
“My drawing is important.”
“Our story is coming to life.”

Now all that’s missing are the signatures of the little authors 😊

The book will be published in French, German and English. An Arabic version is also planned.

And perhaps the most wonderful thing is:
The children are already saying today
that one day they would like to show this book to their own children.

A big thank you also goes to the sponsors and friends in Switzerland and Mali who continue to accompany and support us on this journey.

🌱 “Graines de joie – Seeds of Joy”

With great gratitude to Souleymane Guindo, the children of Kene Elou Te Mali and all the families who are part of this journey.

We are currently looking into printing options in Mali for the first edition of the book.

Perhaps there are people who would like to help ensure that the children’s stories and drawings can be printed and shared.
