Groundwater Modelling For Communities Part 1

Groundwater Modelling For Communities Part 1, From Blue Community Ambassador Erin O'Donnell Associate Professor and ARC DECRA Fellow at Melbourne Law School: G

Groundwater is still largely treated as out of sight, out of mind, with exploitation enabled and too often poorly regulated under settler water law frameworks. Get along to this great session to learn more about how to understand and care for groundwater systems.

Webinar by Earth & Every. Advocating for environmental regulatory best practice.

𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟴 𝗠𝗮𝘆! People power is more important than ever in ensuring that impacts to groundwater and surface water are assessed in a way that ensures transparency, accountability and just outcomes for people and the environment.
However, groundwater models, or complex computer programs that simulate groundwater conditions, flow and chemistry, are really difficult for most people to understand and interact with.
We are holding a training session for First Nations people, community groups and environmental advocates to demystify groundwater models and to learn how impacts are predicted, what assumptions sit behind the modelling, and why uncertainty matters.
Most importantly, we will show you which questions to ask and which outcomes you can realistically pursue when engaging with consultants and government.
