From the Spanish Blue Community aeopas – Asociación Española de Operadores Públicos de Abastecimiento y Saneamiento:
Today we have participated, together with various social agents and the Andalucia Junta, in the work on the Regulation of the Integral Water Cycle for Urban Use in Andalusia.
From AEOPAS, we defend that this regulation must contribute to taking decisive steps toward a true water transition, based on guaranteeing the human right to water and sanitation, public management, transparency, citizen participation, and the protection of people in situations of vulnerability.
We have also conveyed the need to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of urban water systems, improve their resilience to extreme weather phenomena, reduce losses, ensure the economic-financial sustainability of the services, and advance in public planning adapted to the new climate scenario.
Thanks to the Junta of Andalucia and all the participating entities for opening this space for dialogue and shared work.
