The Sanitation & Water for All SWA partnership will co-host an event at the VII Latin American Sanitation Conference (LatinoSan 2026), hosted by the Government of the Dominican Republic. While Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) have made progress in expanding sanitation services, persistent inequalities remain, particularly in rural, peri-urban, small island, and coastal contexts. These challenges are intensified by climate change, extreme weather events, ecosystem degradation, rapid urbanization, and structural financing gaps.
Our session discusses what the increased visibility of sanitation within national resilience, biodiversity, and economic development agendas means for communities and what momentum toward new or reinforced Heads of State–led commitments in the region could look like.
