Operation Revitalize Africa (ORA) joins the Blue Community Network as a registered Nonprofit Organization from Ohio, USA, incorporated in September 2023 and gained 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status on June 10, 2024.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
ORA seeks to connect with global Blue Community members to collaborate, share knowledge, and learn from others. It will also contribute field experience from rural Kenya to promote water justice, sustainability, and equitable access.
Human Right to Water & Sanitation
ORA recognizes safe, clean water and sanitation as a fundamental human right and prioritizes rural Kenya.
The reality on the ground: crops fail when drought hits, hygiene is impossible without water to spare, and waterborne disease spreads through contaminated surface sources. Women and children walk hours each day to fetch water shared with livestock, risking attacks from crocodiles and hippos.
Current & Planned Water Projects
Activities include solar-powered boreholes, elevated water storage, sanitation facilities, hygiene education, and community water programs. The flagship K’olago B Village project in Kisumu County, Kenya, aims to provide safe water for households and schools, reduce waterborne disease, and ease the burden on women and children who walk long distances for unsafe water.
Clean Water Access & Awareness
ORA starts with community engagement, partnerships, and education to assess needs, build local ownership, and promote WASH. Boreholes are then drilled to provide clean water access. Ongoing training and community programs ensure safe water use, sustainable management, and long-term resilience. The goal: community-centered solutions that strengthen health outcomes and ensure equitable water access for all.
Public Water Stewardship Over Private Profit
ORA supports water systems that serve communities equitably and prioritize public benefit. In rural Kenya, it partners with local leaders, schools, and residents to encourage transparent, community-based management of water infrastructure, local participation, and accountability to protect water as a shared public resource.
Reducing Reliance on Unsafe Water Sources
ORA works to replace unsafe surface water and costly bottled water with sustainable local systems. Through education and outreach on hygiene, sanitation, and water management, it aims to improve health outcomes and water security.
Broader Sustainability & Climate Resilience
ORA links water security to education, sustainable agriculture, sanitation, and economic development. Current initiatives include clean water access for rural communities, climate-smart agriculture and drip irrigation, tree planting, WASH education, and training programs that empower women to become entrepreneurs. Local leadership in planning and implementation ensures long-term impact.
